Equipment Operator (Grade 11):  The Town of Cheverly is seeking an energetic and hardworking Equipment Operator. The Town of Cheverly offers competitive pay and benefits, including 100% Town-paid individual health insurance premium.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn all facets of Public Works including operating trucks, equipment, coordinating teams, and maintaining a high level of service for Cheverly residents.  Qualifications include CDL license in good standing.  Preferred qualifications include experience in multiple public works operations.  Application review and scheduling of interviews may begin on January 4, 2021. During pandemic operations, the Town is taking extraordinary precautions for employees' safety, including alternating schedules and task assignments.
 
While this can be a physically demanding position in the Public Works Department, this employee may be assigned to any division within the department temporarily or permanently according to the needs of the department. This employee receives direct and general supervision from the Director of Public Works and/or designated supervisor. This employee operates all the town's vehicles and heavy equipment, requiring a high degree of skill and manual dexterity. This employee must demonstrate a high level of initiative and professional judgment. This is an essential employee position, and the successful candidate must be available for emergency work and overtime.
