Call to order
Meeting called to order at 7:15 pm via Zoom.

In attendance: Chair, John LeGloahec, Supervisors Robin Kaye and Joseph Pruden.
Staff: Town Clerk - TC Hegeman.

The Board of Election Supervisors each gave a brief history of their background.

J. LeGloahec discussed the Non-Citizen Charter Amendment. The Board of Elections doesn’t get involved until it is enacted and then the Board of Elections would be required to keep a non-citizen registry to allow non-citizens to vote in Cheverly elections.

J. LeGloahec discussed proposed Charter Amendments:

1.) To increase the Board of Election Supervisors number from three to five. This would give additional representation and a better distribution of work.

2.) Saturday voting and or early voting. The potential to let residents vote the Saturday prior to the election with their ballot or drop off their ballot.

3.) Same day voting and registration. J. LeGloahec we’ve never turned anyone away who showed up to vote. However, their ballot would be a Provisional Ballot, meaning that their ballot is counted last.              This would allow people who are not registered but qualified under the various regulations to vote as a regular register voter would.

4.) Emergency Charter Amendment that would allow for 100% voting by mail for any resident. The list of registered voters would be mailed a ballot.

5.) Increase the number of election judges (does not require a charter amendment) from six to as many as twelve. It would be a better distribution of responsibility and work shifts.

One resident inquired about the process for approving charter amendments and another resident inquired about collecting signatures for a potential referendum.

Motion to Adjourn: J. Pruden, seconded by R. Kaye.
