PB Attendees:  Barbara Brown, Jeremy Coon, Margaret MacDonnell, Fred Price, Vinny Herman, Abel Olivo

Presentation: 1201 Claybrick Road, Capitol Heights - District of Columbia's Mandatory Referral application for DDOT/DMV facility (MR-2028F).

Project Teams for DC Dept of General Services; DMV; DDOT; Bell Architects; Boler; and Grove Slade were introduced.

Discussed the mandatory referral process and DC’s mandatory referral application, plan and use of the property.  M-NCPPC will review comments and concerns feedback. 

Area zoned industrial.  DDOT and DMV will share the space.  DC DMV CDL Office and DC Circulator Facilities: 33,600 SF office bldg., 5500 SF maintenance space, 107 passenger vehicle parking spaces and 121 bus parking spaces.

The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review process will provide routing/transportation study for upcoming meetings.

Looked in DC for site and none was available.  DC currently has three garage sites. Proposed site will unify the current three sites in DC. 

County Council Members and DC Mayor have discussed project idea.  Fuel and battery storage on facility was discussed.  Batteries will not be stored on site they will be leased.  Will have above ground oil storage tank (55 gal. tanks).  A certified company and clean-up Hazmat facility included with project development.

Concern raised if neighboring communities/municipalities have been contacted and their what was their feedback and concerns.  

Reserved open space request sent to county and Cheverly asked for expanded list.  Waiting for next steps related to zoning map spaces.

Talked about possibility of senior living facility at Hospital Hill Site.  Looking for focus group to discuss the bike trail information at next months meeting.
