  1. Special PGCPS Distance Learning Update - PGCPS District 4 School Board Member Bryan Swann will give a brief update on the status of Prince George’s Public Schools and distance learning and will welcome community questions and concerns. Community members are encouraged to send questions in advance to bryan.swann@pgcps.org.
  1. Resident Input - Public comment period. All comments are limited to 3 minutes. Residents are asked to please state name and ward.

  1. Town Administrator Report - Town Administrator Galloway – will provide a report to the Mayor and Council regarding the status of Town operations and a summary of actions taken under the COVID-19 state of emergency.
  1. Police Report - Chief Towers - will give monthly report.
  1. Public Works Report - Director Brayman - will give update on the Department of Public Works.
  1. Planning Board Member Approval - The Mayor will ask Councilmember Munyeneh to bring forward her nomination of Mr. Fred Price to the Cheverly Planning Board for Mayor and Council consideration.
  1. Approval of Contract for Cheverly Town Attorney -The Town Administrator will present a contract for Mayor and Council Approval.
  1. Second Reader of the Indigenous People and Juneteenth Ordinance - Mayor read the ordinance renaming Columbus Day to Indigenous People’s Day and establishing Juneteenth as a Town holiday. The ordinance will also be read at the October Town meeting, and will be followed by a Council vote.
  1. First Reader of the Non-Citizen Voting Charter Amendment and Continuation of Public Hearing on Charter Amendment - The Mayor will introduce (first reader) the proposed Non-Citizen Voting Charter Amendment. The amendment will also be read at the October and November Town meetings.  A vote will follow the third reader of the proposed amendment in the November Town meeting. 
  1. Liquor Board Hearing Update - Mayor and Council will receive an update from Town Administrator on liquor board hearing scheduled for August 25, 2020. Rinco Escodido Deli Bar and Restaurant, LLC, t/a Rincon Escondido Deli Bar 5701 Columbia Road, Hyattsville, 20785 will be applying for a Class B, Beer, Wine, and Liquor license.
  1. Rules and Procedures Approval - Mayor will offer Mayor and Council Rules and Procedures for consideration and vote.
  1. Review of September Worksession agenda and future requests - Mayor and Town Administrator will offer a forecast of the September Worksession agenda. Mayor will seek Council input on agenda items for consideration for future Worksessions.
  1. Mayor and Council Announcements - Opportunity for Mayor and Council to share community happenings and events.
  1. Adjourn
