Special Meeting of the Mayor and Town Council
of the Town of Cheverly

NOTICE OF CLOSED MEETING

Pursuant to § C-13 of the Town Charter, the Mayor and Council of the Town
of Cheverly will convene a special meeting at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28,
2019, at Cheverly Town Hall, 6401 Forest Road, Cheverly, MD 20785.

Pursuant to Maryland Code, § 3-101 et seq., of the General Provisions Article, the
Mayor and Council will meet briefly in open session in order to vote to close the
meeting pursuant to § 3-305(b)(1), to discuss personnel matters, § 3-305(b)(1),
“To discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline,
demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of
appointees, employees, or officials over whom this public body has jurisdiction;
any other personnel matter that affects one or more specific individuals.”

The specific reason for the closed session is the Mayor and Council will continue
discussions regarding the new Police Chief.

The Mayor and Council will not return to open session.
