Traffic Education Initiative

It is the mission of the Cheverly Police Department to serve and protect its residents and render the best police service that can be given. The Cheverly Police Department is dedicated to protecting residents while walking, riding bikes, using public facilities, and driving through Town.

Beginning July 13, 2023, the Cheverly Police Department will engage in a traffic education initiative in the area of Forest Road and Lake Avenue. This initiative will include educating traffic violators who live, work, and play in Cheverly, about the dangers of speed-related incidents, distracted driving while on electronic devices, and other distractions, as well as obeying traffic control devices such as red lights and stop signs.

The focus is to ensure residents and visitors to the Town are safe and to reduce the number of traffic-related incidents that occur within Cheverly. We look forward to partnering with the residents and others to make Cheverly the safest community in the State of Maryland.
