PUBLIC SAFETY WEEKLY UPDATE

December 1, 2023

Dear Residents,

We're committed to keeping you informed about public safety in our community. Over the past 14 days, we've had no verified crimes.  Unfortunately, a shooting occurred on State Street on the 15th of November. Thankfully, no one was harmed. Following that incident, we experienced no additional verified crimes until a break-in last night, November 30th on Crest Street. Please remain vigilant by locking your doors and keeping an eye out for your neighbors.

On a positive note, we have strong applicants that we hope will be joining us soon, aiming for 24/7 policing by spring. Additionally, we've successfully identified a suspect for the break-ins in October, thanks to the collaborative efforts of CPD and Prince George's County.

As we enter the holiday season, with packages being delivered, be cautious. We wish you happy holidays and will continue to provide updates on our progress.

Sincerely,
Kayce Munyeneh
Mayor
