Cheverly Youth: Town Council and Event Updates

The Cheverly Youth Town Council is a platform designed to empower youth within our community, allowing them to actively participate in local governance and contribute to decision-making processes. As members of the new Council, youth will be collaborating with our Youth Coordinator to brainstorm ways to create a fun, stress-free environment that best benefits middle and high schoolers in Cheverly. Although the Youth Coordinator will be there to help plan and guide, we want to hear directly from you all!

The Council will serve as a bridge between the youth population and the Mayor and Council, providing a voice for high schoolers and young adults to address issues that directly affect them and their peers.

Requirements

• Age Eligibility: Members of the Youth Town Council should be in Grades 10-12. The Youth Advisor on the Council should be between the ages of 18-22.
• Residency: Council members should be residents of the Cheverly.
• Application Process: Council members must fill out a brief informational application. There is no essay submission required.
• Term Limits: The first Cheverly Youth Town Council Term will be from January 2024 – June 2024.
• Regular Meetings: Must be available to attend regular meetings. These meetings will be hybrid, so you have the option to join online. The scheduling for these meetings will be flexible!
