Backdoor Trash and Yard Waste Pickup Postponed, Offices Working Virtually

Due to the snow and icy conditions, the Department of Public Works will be postponing backdoor trash pickup for Monday, January 3, 2022, and Tuesday, January 4, 2022. This is necessary for the safety of employees.

Trash crews are still working to pick up trash at the curbside. Please note that all yard waste pickup, including Christmas Trees, is postponed as well. Snow and icy conditions will be assessed later this week to determine if backdoor trash pickup, yard waste, and Christmas trees can be picked up later this week. All efforts will be made to pick up backdoor trash on Thursday and Friday if conditions are safe for employees. Neighbors are encouraged to help residents take backdoor trash to the curb on Thursday and Friday. An additional News and Announcement updating residents will be sent out.

Normal curbside trash services are as scheduled:
East Side pickup will be Monday, January 3, 2022
West Side pick up on Tuesday, January 4, 2022
An additional News and Announcement will be sent out if weather conditions require additional service changes.

Please note that due to the inclement weather, Town Hall and Public Works offices will be providing services virtually. Town Hall offices can be reached at (301) 773-8360, and Public Works offices can be reached at (301) 773-2666. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this inclement weather event.

Please stay safe and many thanks to our Cheverly Public Works Department crew for plowing the Town streets.
