  14. Pavilion and Park Usage Rules
    • The permit applies to the covered pavilion only (includes stage for Town Park Pavilion rentals) and does not grant special access to other park facilities or allow the permit holder to restrict access to the parking lot.
    • The applicant must be present at the event. If the applicant is not present, the group may be asked to leave by police.
    • Restrooms and pavilions are last serviced at 3:30 pm on Friday and service is not provided again until the next business day.
    • If the electricity is on in the pavilion, you may use it for small appliances. However, the use of large electrical machinery/equipment is prohibited. We do not guarantee the availability of electricity.
    • Amusement rides are prohibited (e.g. moon bounces, pony rides, etc.)
    • Permit holders may use play fields; however, scheduled games and practices of Town teams (B&G club, Soccer club, etc.) have precedence.
    • Any music (live or boom box) must not violate Cheverly's Noise Ordinance (Chapter 19 - Town Code) and must not disturb the peace of the neighborhood. It should only be heard within the park. An exception to the Noise Ordinance can only be requested through submission and approval of a Special Event Form (Special Events). Police will terminate your permit if a violation occurs.
    • Use of marijuana or any other non-prescribed narcotic is strictly prohibited. Police will terminate your permit if a violation occurs.
    • Attendees must obey all park rules (Chapter 16 - Town Code) and abide by all regulations.
    • The Police Department may remove individuals or groups from Town parks for illegal activity or whose behavior or conduct may be considered a safety concern.

Cheverly Police Department response to calls for service on Town property:

Upon observing or responding to violations, especially involving noise heard beyond the pavilion’s perimeter, pavilion users are to be advised of the town code, expectations for continued use, and notified that recurrence may result in the event’s termination. If the violation recurs, especially those involving noise complaints, supervisors may provide an additional warning or terminate the event, in their discretion. In no case will an event be permitted to continue should CPD receive or respond to a third complaint. The event will be terminated and the applicant/event coordinator cited under the Town code, if warranted.

    End-of-Use Expectations:

    • Permit holders must leave Town property and premises in good condition. All trash and refuse should be bagged and tied securely. Users must bring their own bags.
    • Applicants assume responsibility for damages and clean-up costs in excess of normal wear and tear from the use of the facility.

Please Note: The Mayor and Town Council have established park rules via the Cheverly Town Code. All Park rules must be obeyed by persons utilizing the park facility. Park Pavilion/Stage reservation privileges are contingent upon compliance with these rules. This permit may be revoked, and future permits denied if there is a violation of park rules, or these regulations or improper use of park facilities is determined.
