Biography

Interim Chief Morris has an extensive law enforcement background and has served residents of Prince George's County and the immediate region dating back to 1985. He began his career with the Prince George's County Police Department. He rose through the ranks of that agency and served in a variety of critical roles until his retirement in 2011. Interim Chief Morris then took the helm as Chief of Police of the Riverdale Park Police Department and led that agency for 10 years. In 2021, he was selected by the Chief of the Anne Arundel County Police Department to serve as her Chief of Staff until April of 2023. In addition to serving in these key positions, Interim Chief Morris has worked on behalf of the Maryland Chiefs of Police and Maryland Sheriffs' Associations in multiple leadership roles for more than a decade.

Biography

Assistant Chief Krauss, Jennifer, brings a wealth of experience to our town's police department. A highly motivated and energetic professional, she possesses over twenty-seven years of law enforcement and senior-level management experience with the Prince George's County Police Department. During her distinguished career, she served in a variety of assignments including, Patrol, the Narcotics Enforcement Division working undercover in Street and Major Narcotics, the Training and Education Division supervising instructors and overseeing curriculum and policy development, the Special Assignment Division Gang Unit, and the Special Operations Division commanding the Canine Section and the Conflict Negotiations Team. Her career highlights also included working with the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program. Created by Congress with the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988, HIDTA provides assistance to federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies operating in areas determined to be critical drug-trafficking regions of the United States. This is a coveted assignment in which only those with exquisite investigative skills are selected to serve.
