Winter Weather Street Preparation

 As winter weather approaches, the Town would like to provide important information regarding snow street preparation and the respective responsibilities of State, County, and Municipal agencies. Understanding these roles will help residents know which agency to contact with questions, concerns, or service requests during winter weather events. 

 

Maryland State Highway: 

• Interstate highways, Including Route 50  

• State highways and major state routes 

• State owned bridges and overpasses 

 

• Columbia Park Road Bridge 

To report a dangerous road condition on a state-maintained roadway, please contact Maryland State Highway Administration at 301-952-0555 or visit their website at: https://roads.maryland.gov/pages/home.aspx ;

 

Prince Georges County: 

• County highways and rural connector roads 

• Select arterial roads outside municipal limits 

• Landover Road – Route 202  

• Columbia Park Road  

• Arbor Street near 7-11

Town of Cheverly Public Works Department: 

• Town streets, priority given to Primary Streets

• Municipal parking lots and Town-owned facilities

Residents are reminded to: 

• Remove vehicles from designated snow plowing areas during snow events
