We are closely monitoring the weather conditions.
Our Public Works staff, Police Department, and Cheverly CERT remain ready to respond to any issues.
What to Expect
• Heavy Snow: Total accumulations of 5 to 10 inches, with some areas possibly reaching up to 12 inches.
• Snowfall Rates: 1 to 3 inches per hour expected between midnight and mid-morning Monday. A second round of heavy snow is likely Monday evening before tapering off Monday night.
Timing
• Start: 10 PM this evening
• End: 1 AM Tuesday
Impacts
• Roads: Untreated and unplowed roads will become impassable during Monday morning and evening commutes. Even primary roads may be difficult to navigate during the heaviest snowfall.
• Travel: Non-essential travel is strongly discouraged.

Local Updates for Cheverly and Prince George’s County
Town Operations:
All town administrative offices will be closed on Monday, January 6, 2025, and will provide assistance remotely.
Public Works will be activated at 8 PM EST tonight to commence snow operations. Trash and yard waste collection are postponed to Tuesday.
Cheverly Police will remain operational 24/7 throughout the storm.
Prince George’s County:
Police, Fire, and Emergency Operations are operating at increased staffing levels.
All Prince George’s County government offices will be closed Monday.
Stay safe and avoid unnecessary travel during the storm.
