Annual Community Events

Cheverly Day
Cheverly Day is a community-wide, all-day event that includes runs, basketball, softball, music, food, activities for kids, parades, and more. The Day celebrates all the very best aspects of the town. Visit the Cheverly Day website for complete information.

The night preceding Cheverly Day is traditionally celebrated with ChvProm, a ticketed potluck event with live music, dancing, table decoration prizes and photo booth for adults. Like Cheverly day, ChvProm relies on a dedicated band of volunteers.

Annual Parties & Festivities

Easter Egg Hunt: Meet the Easter Bunny at The Recreation Council's Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Don't forget to bring a basket or bag for the eggs you collect, and take a picture with the Easter Bunny!

Halloween Parade and Party: The Halloween Parade and Party begins with a parade of costumed children (and their families) at Gast "Tot" Park and concludes with treats, crafts, and a party at the Community Center.

Children's Holiday Party: Visit with Santa, and enjoy entertainment, crafts, and refreshments at the Recreation Council's annual Children's Holiday Party.

Santa's Secret Shop: Children have the opportunity to purchase small gifts in their budget range at the Cheverly Community Market during this special event. Special helpers are available to help the youngest shoppers make their purchases.

Christmas Tree Lighting: Join your friends and neighbors to celebrate the start of the Christmas season. The night begins with special performances at the Community Center, then travels to Legion Park for caroling and the tree lighting.
 

Flea Markets

Spring Flea Market: The Recreation Council's Spring Flea Market is held in early spring at the Community Center. Tables are $15. Call Barbara 301-773-5883 to reserve your table. Rain or shine: it's indoors -- great bargains, food, and baked goods.

Fall Flea Market: The Fall Flea Market, sponsored by the Recreation Council, is held in early fall at the Community Center. Tables are $15. Call Barbara 301-773-5883 to reserve your table. Tables go fast. Great bargains, good food and baked goods.
