WSSC Performing Large Sewer Project on the East Side of Town – Task Order 201

WSSC has commenced work on Task Order 201. This work encompasses much of the East Side of the Town of Cheverly. This is a very large project that stretches from the Beaverdam/Magruder Springs area up to Kilmer Street, and from Cheverly Avenue to Jason Street and 64th Avenue. The exact timeline of this project is not known at this time, but it is expected to take several months or more depending upon working and weather conditions.
This project currently includes renewing numerous sewer mainlines and work on many sewer laterals to houses. Sometimes this work will be done by open excavation, as well as underground pipe bursting and relining of the pipes. WSSC is regularly passing out door hangers to keep homes and residents in the immediate work area updated on what to expect. Currently, the project is working in and around the 2800-3100 Blocks of Parkway.
As this project progresses, it is expected that there may be numerous work areas proceeding simultaneously. Work may include, but not limited to, mainlines, laterals, as well as cleaning/flushing lines to then televise the sewer lines. WSSC’s contractor will use traffic controls as needed.
Updated News and Announcements will be posted to inform residents on the anticipated work areas over a one-to-two-week period. WSSC’s door hangers include detailed information on what residents should expect depending upon the type of construction work being performed in their area. The door hangers also include contact information for questions, concerns, or emergencies.
