Town Concrete Repairs and Asphalt Repaving

Construction

The Town’s asphalt and concrete contractor, VMP Construction Inc., is scheduling to start milling asphalt on the roads below, starting on or about May 31, 2022, weather permitting. VMP is also scheduling to start repaving of these roads on or about June 6th through June 8th. Public Works appreciates your understanding and patience that milled roads are rough and drivers should slow down while traveling these roads or avoid driving on these roads if at all possible.

As previously posted, the following roadway sections are being scheduled for work:

  • 6000 Block of Kilmer Street (from Cheverly Avenue to Lake Avenue).
  • Greenleaf Road (Forest Road to Crest) and Forest Road intersection to include some water issues and add crosswalks.
  • Valley Way and Euclid Street to incorporate recent catch basin work.
  •  Carlyle Street.

Speed humps and the raised crosswalk will be completed after the road paving. Approved speed humps and raised crosswalks will be installed later in the following areas:

  • Speed humps will be installed on Lockwood Road (3 additional humps), Carlyle Street (1 hump), and Dewey Street (2 humps).
  • A raised crosswalk will be installed on Cheverly Avenue at Euclid Street.

VMP will be posting no parking signs 48 hours in advance of work and will use traffic control devices when necessary. Please be patient with any traffic interruptions during this construction work that is improving the Town’s infrastructure.

Please call public works at (301) 773-2666 with any questions.
