Special Meeting of the Mayor and Town Council
of the Town of Cheverly
NOTICE OF CLOSED MEETING
Pursuant to § C-13 of the Town Charter, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Cheverly will convene a special meeting immediately following the Worksession on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Cheverly Town Hall, 6401 Forest Road, Cheverly, MD 20785.
Pursuant to Maryland Code, § 3-101 et seq., of the General Provisions Article, the Mayor and Council will meet briefly in open session in order to vote to close the meeting “To discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of appointees, employees, or officials over whom this public body has jurisdiction; any other personnel matter that affects one or more specific individuals,” § 3-305(b)(1) of the General Provisions Article, and “to consult with legal counsel to obtain legal advice.” § 3-305(b)(7).
The specific reason for the closed session is the Mayor and Council will discuss personnel matters and obtain legal advice regarding the same.
