Special Meeting of the Mayor and Town Council

of the Town of Cheverly

 

NOTICE OF CLOSED MEETING

            Pursuant to § C-13 of the Town Charter, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Cheverly will convene a special meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Cheverly Town Hall, 6401 Forest Road, Cheverly, MD 20785.

 

Pursuant to Maryland Code, § 3-101 et seq., of the General Provisions Article, the Mayor and Council will meet briefly in open session in order to vote to close the meeting pursuant to § 3-305(b)(1), to discuss personnel matters, § 3-305(b)(1), “To discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of appointees, employees, or officials over whom this public body has jurisdiction; any other personnel matter that affects one or more specific individuals.”

§ 3-305(b)(7), “To consult with counsel to obtain legal advice” § 3-305(b)(8), “To consult with staff, consultants, or other individuals about pending or potential litigation.”

 

The specific reason for the closed session is the Mayor and Council will discuss personnel matters, pending or potential litigation and legal advice.
