Non-Contact Shooting Investigation

***5/29/2021 POLICE ACTIVITY UPDATE***
Preliminarily, it appears that the sole occupant of an apartment accidentally discharged one round from a firearm.
The projectile traveled through the floor of the apartment and into the apartment below.
No person was injured and the person who discharged the firearm remains in PGPD custody.
This investigation is being handled by PGPD.
LOCATION: 6400 Blk Landover Rd.

Please be advised, officers are currently on scene investigating a call for a non contact shooting
A Non Contact Shooting is an incident where an individual is not struck however a firearm is discharged.
A person of interest has been taken into custody.
There is currently no active threat to the community.
