Approval of minutes of April 7 and April 29, 2022: tabled to next meeting.

Report of BOE’s activities at recent administrative meeting:

R. Kaye – Thank you BOE, election judges and volunteers for your hard work for this recent election. Received good feedback from public regarding the face masks that allowed them to see the BOE & judge’s mouths.

C. Pruitt – Larger signage was helpful. Election went smoothly.

 J. Pruden – Election materials were returned to the PG Board of Election. Received comment that it was a good idea to get face masks that would allow visibility of judge’s mouths.

D. Thorpe – The masks were positive.

Ways to improve next election:

R. Kaye –Would be best to hold voter registration drives at various locations around the town at least once a month leading up to election.

Plan better for the audio visual to be set up before it’s time to go live with the counting. Have a trial run at least the week before.

Maybe pursue teenage volunteers at next election.

 J. Pruden –Ensure that microphones are hard wired instead of wireless to ensure better sound.

BOE received emails regarding the election results.

R. Kaye – There were many write ins, but none came close to enough to mention individually so the announcement was various write ins. BOE doesn’t normally publish every write in names that did not receive significant votes.

Asked BOE should more detailed results be published?

Another question was asked about (No Votes).

R. Kaye –       Explained what constitutes a (No Vote)

J. Pruden – It’s important to list the number of votes instead of names. Requests discussing at an administrative meeting.

D. Thorpe – Recommends providing and explanation of (No Votes) for next election.

Action Items:

 Resident Input

  • Sheila Salo – Was one of the persons who asked about (No Votes). BOE answered questions during meeting. It would be good to know who some people think may be good candidates if Write-ins are listed.
  • Fred Price – Asked if in 2023 there may be redistricting.

New Business

  •   2023 Election initiatives to research
