Cheverly United Methodist Church

This family-oriented church has been active in the Cheverly community since the early 1940s. Many Cheverly youth have begun their early childhood education here in the Mother's Day Out and Weekday Nursery programs. In addition to Sunday worship at 8:30 and 11:00, church activities include Sunday School, children's choir instruction, our Teen Prayze Group, Family Fellowship Study, and the Pastor's Bible study. Cheverly UMC is also home to Safe Passages, the Cheverly Garden Club, Girl Scouts, Brownies, and Daisies Troops, and Wild Flower Yoga.

St. Ambrose Catholic Church

From its beginnings as a mission chapel in old Landover in 1886, St. Ambrose has a long tradition of service to the people of Cheverly. The parish moved to its present location in 1950 and built its parish school, auditorium and finally the present church building in 1961. 
 
Ministries in the parish include its parochial school, Children's Liturgy,  a Sunday bilingual religious education program for children and adults, ESL for new immigrants, youth activities programs including CYO sports, as well as various worship groups, such as the contemporary music group and adult choir. Social ministries conducted by the Ladies of Charity, the Men's Club and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Family to Familia, and the Global Solidarity Team. The church also has active book and bible study groups and takes an active part in the community.

Community Temple Church of Jesus Christ

The Community Temple is a Pentecostal church with a membership of about 200. Ministries include Deacon's and Deaconess Missionary, Ushers and Greeters, Women's, Men of Warfare, Youth, Dance and Drama, Hospitality, Health and Wellness, Tutoring and Training, Transportation, and Pastoral Care.

At CBC, we're a community of broken people who understand that our only hope in this life is the Lord Jesus Christ. Our gatherings include time singing, praying, and reading God's Word in addition to an expositional message from the Bible. During our services, we provide care and classes for children ages 6 months to 5 years. It is our joy to warmly welcome you to our community. Starting February 25, 2018, we gather every Sunday at 10:30am.
