This family oriented church has been active in the Cheverly community since the early 1940's. Many Cheverly youth have begun their early childhood education here in our Mother's Day Out and Week Day Nursery programs. In addition to Sunday worship at 8:30 and 11:00, Church activities include Sunday School, children's choir instruction Thursday afternoons, our Teen Prayze Group, Family Fellowship Study and the Pastor's Bible study. Cheverly UMC is also home to Safe Passages, the Cheverly Garden club, Girl Scout Troup #1706 and Wild Flower Yoga.
St. Ambrose Catholic Church

From its beginnings as a mission chapel in old Landover in 1886, St. Ambrose has a long traditioin of service to the people of Cheverly. The parish moved to its present location in 1950 and built its parish school, auditorium and finally the present church building in 1961. Ministries in the parish comprise its school with grades pre-K through 8, a Sunday bilingual religious education program for children and adults, ESL for new immigrants, youth activities programs that include CYO sports, Boy and Girl Scout Troops and a children's choir. Adult parish ministries include various worship groups such as our contemporary music group and adult choir along with social ministries conducted by the Ladies of Charity, the Men's Club and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Community Temple Church of Jesus Christ

The Community Temple is a Pentacostal church with a membership of about 200. It Offers Bible classes and a Young Adult Club. The original structure dates to the turn of the century.
