 Big Clean-Up Planned for Woodworth Park
Friends of Lower Beaverdam (FLB) is hosting a big invasive-plant removal and trash pick-up project on Saturday, March 12th at Woodworth Park. The main staging area will be at the corner of Wayne near Parkway, but we will also be working from the entrance at Arbor Street and Parkway. Your help is needed! There will be two work sessions, at 9:00AM and 1:00PM, and you can come to one or both. Registration will take place at the start of each session. Signed parental permission before or during registration is needed for children under 16. Work gloves, tools, drinks and snacks provided. We will be joined by volunteers from throughout the area, so we want to be sure to have a strong Cheverly presence. The Kids Care Club is making this one of its official events, Scout troops are expected, youth and counselors from the Safe Passages program
will help, some Garden Club members will be there… you come, too! Bring your friends or members of your organization. It will be fun, educational and really good for an environment we’re trying to make more beautiful for the enjoyment of all.
Also, don’t forget that FLB also does clean-ups in the area (and will be expanding up toward the Community Center) on the last Saturday of every month, from 9 to 2. And on Wednesday, March 2nd, at 7:00PM, there will be a free workshop where you will build a rain barrel. All materials and instruction provided.
